William L Monson
Bill's life testimony is one of restoration, endurance, perseverance, selflessness, forgiveness and a faith that un-wavered regardless of his situation.
He knew the true value of life and what mattered most. Life is not about material treasures, it is about relationships. First with Jesus then family and everyone he met.
Generous - He was the most generous person. He always gave regardless if he had a little or a lot. If he had nothing, he would still find a way to give. He would constantly refer to the widow’s mite (Luke 21:1-4) and say…. “With God all things are possible” (Matt 19:26)
Strength - He had a strong will that kept him always moving forward. He amazed everyone who knew him…including his children, extended family, friends and doctors. He was proud to be a “stubborn Norwegian”.
Problem Solver – He was blessed as the ultimate, creative problem solver. There are many personal stories of the amazing ways he would find his way out of a problem…or as he would say “an opportunity for growth”.
Visionary and Pioneer in the world of Telecommunication – He built a successful cable TV business in the early ‘60s. He developed the first portable satellite transport system to introduce new cutting edge technology in Australia and Thailand in the early 1980’s.
Fearless - He had no fear of death - he knew exactly where he was going and lived his life fully. He lived in freedom and had fun and adventure all the way to the end of this life.
Creative - He discovered a new love of cooking - His kids called it “crazy cooking with dad”. He was like the Swedish Chef from the Muppets – it always was an adventure – He gave new meaning to “it’s never too late to teach an old dog new tricks” in actuality he was the one teaching everyone around him.
Deal Finder - He knew a good bargain and was always looking at how he could bless others. He had his “trap-line”. He could hook anyone up with a computer, car or even find a motorhome for the homeless to have shelter. He would buy tents and camping gear and deliver it to the homeless and even take orders for what they needed. He was the ultimate deal finder with a heart to bless others.
Friend - He was a friend to all. Just like Jesus is our friend even when we aren’t his.
The most important thing to remember is that he loved Jesus so much and he knew where he was going. He wanted everyone to know that Jesus loves you!
His lasting message to all his friends and family is that all Glory is to be given to God and to live a humble life full of love, grace and forgiveness.
